The Santa Fe Scottish Rite Temple Historical Preservation Foundation is a volunteer group of New Mexico Scottish Rite Freemasons which serves to protect, preserve, maintain, restore, and develop the Santa Fe Scottish Rite Temple as a city, state, and national historical landmark, an educational and cultural resource for Freemasonry, and a community center available to the public for arts, culture, and education.
In support of and in partnership with the Scottish Rite Valley of Santa Fe and the Santa Fe Scottish Rite Temple Building Association, the following goals have been established:
1. To preserve, restore, and maintain the active and living early 1900s working Scottish Rite theater with its antique stage, scenery curtain drops, costumes, small properties, organ, and other historic and cultural furnishings and regalia.
2. To preserve and maintain the collection of Masonic related books, art objects, furnishings, equipment, paraphernalia, and other items of historical, educational, and cultural significance.
3. To preserve, restore, and maintain the Temple building and grounds with historical accuracy and appearance while incorporating modern improvements to insure its safety and to support its use and operation.
4. To preserve and maintain the registered status of the Temple as a U.S., State of New Mexico, and City of Santa Fe Historic Landmark.
5. To serve the Valley of Santa Fe by providing the highest quality facility for Scottish Rite ritual, meetings, and activities.
6. To maintain and support an attractive and working facility for public and private events that align with Scottish Rite values and generate operating income.
7. To serve and contribute to the community through educational outreach, hosted events for select non-profits, scheduled building tours, and participation in community events and organizations.
8. To engage Valley members in Temple preservation by encouraging volunteerism and financial support.
9. To actively solicit funds to be used for the maintenance, restoration, and preservation of the Temple as an educational and cultural resource, and to insure the continuing financial health of the Foundation by managing those funds with fiscal responsibility.
10. To identify, research, initiate, guide, and fund Historical Preservation projects.
